Free Interpretive Programs in Parks
Government-run natural parks and historic parks often have excellent free interpretive programs. The quality of the programs has been getting better every year.

Maybe I had a bad experience as a child, but I used to avoid the interpretive programs in parks. I thought they would be dull and boring and sometimes, I was right.
Well, things have changed. The whole field of interpretation - helping visitors to get the most out of their visit to a natural park or a historic site - has become very tuned in to what people want. I highly recommend trying out the free interpretive programs at any government-run park, whether you have children with you or not.
If the program is not up to standard, make your opinion known to the park management. There are so many talented park interpreters out there that every program should be excellent.
