My forefathers and mothers in Russia, and my relative, the Mongolian leader Ghenghis Khan, would not have approved of today‘s food production methods. Indeed, these nomadic tribes that roamed the Caucasus and eventually conquered Russia for a few centuries ate a lot of meat. The origins of shashlik are within these tribes.
