Here's the latest article from the Attention Deficit Disorder site at BellaOnline.com.

Greetings from the Land of OZ!

Still warm here, what's it like where you are at? I know that there are many subscribers who don't live in the USA. So, we might not even be in the same season!

Wherever you live, if your child has ADD/ADHD, he or she probably has trouble in social situations. I felt so badly when my son did not have friends. When you have a friend, somebody to share life's joys and pains with, it is so much more more interesting! My son didn't find a group until college, but your child can use this book to learn to deal with social situations. He or she can be a social detective like Johnny in The Diary of a Social Detective.

Johnny, known to all of the kids as “Johnny Strange,” has a problem. He doesn’t have friends, and he keenly feels his solitary state. Lonely beyond belief, Johnny doesn’t understand social interactions. What can he do? Johnny uses his love of mysteries to learn to solve his own social mysteries.

This book provides the reader with a set of strategies to solve problems in their social lives. I recommend it highly. I wasn’t sure that I would enjoy this book, because the concept seemed kind of cutesy and corny. After reading it, I came to the conclusion that it is “just right.” Two of my friends, professionals in the social services field, also read it. They loved it and thought it would be useful for their social skills groups. We give it three thumbs up!

Have a blessed week!
Connie
