Too many bits – not enough time. The bit should not be considered as a device to harshly control your horse nor is it designed to set the head. The choice of which bit to place on top of your horse’s delicate mouth tissues is more a matter of whether you are schooling lateral exercises or longitudinal exercises. It is also a wise rider that keeps in mind that the bit should be used last and least within the circle of aids.
