July 1 2009 Feng Shui Newsletter

Hi, Everyone--

Are you getting ready for the 4th of July weekend? When most people think of Independence Day celebrations, they think of fireworks, fun, and food. But how about adding some Feng Shui in your table decorations and food choices?

In Feng Shui, Independence Day is represented by the powerful Fire Element. Bring this Element to your table by decorating in its colors: red, orange, or purple. Then, attract wealth by serving food in the lucky number 3. Carry out this theme by serving three types of drinks (water, soft drinks, wine), three salads (potato salad, coleslaw, green salad), or three main courses (burgers, shrimp, hot dogs). Be sure to add some pointed stars to your decorations.

For your menu, choose foods that are red, spicy, hot, or have strong flavors to reflect the yang (or hot) nature of fireworks and sparklers. Foods that work well include peppers, shrimp, garlic, watermelon, soda, beer, red wine, or sangria.
