We are now in the period of the Jewish calendar known as The Three Weeks. At the end of this time, we will read the Book of Lamentations.

The Book of Lamentations
During The Three Weeks, we mourn the destruction of the Holy Temple - along with other calamities that have befallen our people through time. On Tisha B'Av, which occurs at the end of The Three Weeks, we read the Book of Lamentations.
