On the "Needlecrafter's Own Page" of a 1924 issue of Needlecraft Magazine (month unknown), this pattern was offered as a suggestion for a two to three year old child. Although size 30 thread was used, smaller or larger thread size would affect the yoke accordingly. This yoke features the tatted mignonette stitch prominently.

The neck, sleeves and bodice of the yoke are tatted with a line of opposing rings, no chains. Curling chains with rings on both sides outline the yoke shape twice. These sections are separated by three sections of tatted mignonette. Close to the neck the mignonette has two rows. Between the two insertions there are three rows of mignonette. Above the bodice line, there are again two lines of mignonette but the sleeves have seven row. Adding more rows of mignonette is also a method to add width or length to the yoke.

Pattern for the opposing rings:
R 3 - 3 - 3 - 3 clr (close ring) bts (bare thread space) rw (reverse work)
R 3 - 3 - 3 - 3 clr, bts, rw
R 3 + (join to ring one) 3 - 3 - 3 clr, bts, rw
R 3 + (join to ring two) 3 - 3 - 3 clr, bts, rw

To make corner, make one extra ring before rw

Mignonette section
R 1 + (join to center picot of a ring on the lower edge of the opposing rings) 1 clr Leave bts of 1/2 inch.
Repeat around and add second row. At corners, join twice.

Curling chain with rings section.
R 6 - 6 clr rw
CH 7 + (join to space between two mignonette rings of previous row) 3 - 3 + (join to next space) CH 7 - 7 + (join to picot of ring) 7 - 7 - 3- 3 - 7 rw R 6 + (join to preceding rin)where the chain was joined) 6 clr
R 6 - 6 rw
CH 7 - 3 - 3 - 7 - 7 + (join to last ring made) 7 + (join to last picot of chain one) 7 - 3 - 3 - 7 rw
R 6 + (join to picot of second group of rings) 6 clr
Continue in like manner adding extra ring/chain at corners as shown.

Second mignonette section as before tatting three rows.
Second curling chain and rings section as before.
Third mignonette section as before with two row above the bodice and 7 rows for the sleeves.


Repeat opposing rings edging around sleeves and bodice.
