Have you ever heard of the phases – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s)? Ever wondered what the difference is? Understanding these terms are important when it comes to your current job and a promotion.

Knowledge - This means you have the information required to do the job. For example, the knowledge of alphabetizing.

Skills – This means the proficiency required to actually do the job. For example, typing skills or editing skills.

Abilities – The means you have specific capabilities required to perform the job. For example, ability to interact with customers or establish and maintain working relationships.
