Girls with ADD and Self-Harming Behaviors

Greetings from the Land of OZ!

Recently, I read about some research that both horrified and galvanized me. It was about young girls growing into womanhood with the combined type of ADD. By now, you know that I don't think that ADD is a completely terrible thing. To me, it is a brain difference. However, kids who are marginalized because of the negative effects that ADD can have on classroom and playground performance can suffer because of their ADD.

During ten years of research at the U.C. Berkeley, girls with and without ADD were studied. What do you think that they found about girls with the combined type of ADD who were going into young adulthood? This article can give you details and provide resources for more information.
