Greetings to all folks near and far. Summer is sliding by really fast here in Washoe County. It seems like we just got started on the hot weather and the growing season. Now the early mornings and nights are getting chilly already.
My 'Johnny Jump Ups' have jumped up all over my patio in planters and are hanging over the railing like a colorful water fall. My petunias did not do very well this year, but the Hummingbirds kept visiting them every day. Now that the petunias are gone, so are my Hummingbird friends.
My Lemon Balm did very well this year and I still have quite a lot of it growing happily in it's own planter. Lemon balm is a member of the mint family. It is a calming herb when used for teas. For ages Lemon Balm has been used to reduce stress and anxiety. Combined with other calming herbs, like valerian, chamomile, and hops, it provides a soothing tea for relaxation.
