Containers gardens are ideal at the height of the summer. When the garden is wilting and woeful, containers can sure save the day. Use your planters to focus on the best of each season’s blooms and decorative leaves and vines.

Keeping the containers looking good through the dawg days of August will help keep the spirits up. Clip back overgrown annuals and keep the planters well watered and you can look forward to more blossoms on many of the plants that look worn out. It may be a good time to apply another dose of time-release fertilizer as well if it hasn't been refreshed since planting.
