From the Editor:
Hello Large & Lovelies,
Eek! School starts next week. I'm not ready to let Jeff go back. Seriously, I have too many jobs around here for him to do. We've been enjoying the last days of what we consider our summer. We took a drive to a neighbouring town, dog in tow of course, to check a few little shops. I was hoping to get some Christmas shopping done but Jeff wouldn't have any of it. Looks like it'll be my task again this year.
We're enjoying the hardwood floors I mentioned in my last newsletter. I bought a few area rugs for the dog as her butt kept sliding. It was funny at first but quickly became pathetic. Anyone who owns a dog knows what I'm talking about. Their ears go down and they get the "I'm a sad puppy" eyes.
Other personal news? I have an ebay addiction. It's slowing down at the moment but for about 2 weeks I was obsessed. A friend of mine (who's internet illiterate) asked me to go on ebay and find some books by Bertrice Small for her. The first time I was outbid I was miffed the second time sent me into a tizzy of auction watching so I wouldn't lose my bid. I lost hours of sleep. The reason why I'm bringing up ebay is I also became distracted by looking for clothes for moi. I found myself doing daily searches of the clothing section in my size. And I pleasantly won a few things at very reasonable rates. If you're pinched for cash and want a new top or pants I highly recommended venturing into ebay to do so.
Have a few things for you to check out this week:
Using the Internet Wisely
I've been meaning to forward this message along to you for some time. It comes
from reader, Christine. She's a 55 year old BBW retired from Education. She
joined a BBW website and had a strange experience she wanted to share with everyone.
Specificially she wanted to warn "our BBW sisterhood to be very cautious
of the men who contact them".
In a 30 day period at least 6 very attractive men with well written profiles
contacted her to chat. Their chat was appropriate at first. Next thing she knows
they are talking about their business dealings in Africa. Followed by a tragedy
and request for help via sending money orders for her to cash and send the money
on to them. "I have heard everything from sick children who are dying to
lost wallets, briefcases and cell phones." Christine was concerned there
may be others out there who may not of known this was a con.
