September 5 2008 Today in History Newsletter

Greetings!

Apologies for not sending out a newsletter this past week. My main computer—where I do all of my Bella work—died. The motherboard chose Friday morning to just stop working. I, of course, had no idea it was the motherboard until Sunday. So, needless to say the relaxing three-day weekend, here in the States, was not quite so relaxing! Michelle, however, offered to write the article for this week since I was having computer issues. So, do be sure to check it out! It’s what I was going to write on, anyway!

Here's the latest article from the Today in History site at BellaOnline.com.

Freddie Mercury of Queen
On September 5, 1946 the world received and incredible gift of music in the form of Freddie Mercury, lead singer of Queen.

Last week’s article was one of historic perspective, I suppose you could say…

I Have a Dream… (August 28, 1963)
Frederick Douglass began life as a slave. Through "forbidden" education, he was able to speak out for the abolition of slavery, giving Martin Luther King, Jr. the ability to have a dream, almost a century later. Now, less than 50 years after King's historic speech, Barack Obama will live the dream.
