Greetings from the Land of OZ!

With the cool-down in the weather, it's time to take on a hot topic! I've been letting this rattle around in my brain since last May. I hope you find it interesting and useful.

Emotional Control and Attention Deficit Disorder

Have you ever watched an adult fly into a towering rage over something that seemed trivial to you? Why did they react that way? The person might have ADD/ADHD and deficient emotional self-regulation. A recent study suggests that this problem may be inherited. Whole families can struggle with these emotional firestorms.

Here are are some other links that you might find interesting, if you want to learn more about the study and DESR.

It has a lot if information about executive function and emotional regulation. For those of you who like tons of information, this is worthwhile. Barkley posits that DESR is central to ADHD and wants it included in the new diagnostic criteria. How do YOU feel about this? Please let us all know where you stand. Do you agree with Barkley's assessment of ADD? Please post in the forum.)
