GOOD GRIEF The BellaOnline Bereavement Newsletter

Half Moon July 2009 Issue

Hello, Babies! I’m back.

My deep gratitude to those of you extending your condolences on the death of my Mother-In-Law. Thanks to all of you for your patience while I was on leave. YOU know what those final weeks in the hospital are like, and all that has to be done once death occurs. You comfort me. Don’t know how we’d all make it if we didn’t have each other.

So, back to work! What have you been thinking about, my Village People? What topics do you want to see covered? What are you going through? Talk to me, jog my brain.

I did manage to get some reading done while I was away. Look at these reviews:

HELLO IT’S ME

A fun read, considering the topic. A young mother of two is suddenly widowed. The best thing about this book is its treatment of the proverbial question of the bereaved: Am I going crazy?

65 ROSES

Heavy reading, masterfully written. A sister’s memoir of life with Cystic Fibrosis.

COMING SOON
OUT OF THE CANYON
You may remember the news story from the 90s about a boulder that came loose and crushed a car on a Colorado highway. This book is by the man who lost his wife and 2 sons that day.

Many people have questions about death, dying, grief, sadness, depression. It's not something we speak of openly in our culture. The Bereavement Page is a safe place to ask anonymously. Not only will you get an answer personally if you click on "Contact Editor", but a full length feature article may be written so we can all learn.
