I'm sorry to have vanished like this for a while. You will be aware that Queensland, Australia, has been in the grip of flooding and cyclones since just before Christmas.

My work, with our Department of Emergency Services, means that I've been more than a little busy and I've been spending long hours just doing my 9 - 5 job.

Thank you for bearing with me!

At this time, my thoughts are not only with my fellow Queenslanders who are still struggling to get their lives back on track, but with our friends in Christchurch, New Zealand, in the aftermath of the awful earthquake they have just had.
