April 1 2012 Genealogy Newsletter

April 2, 2012 is the exciting day alot of us have been waiting for! It is the day that the first batch of the 1940 census will be released to the public, for FREE. If you have any questions on the 1940 census, visit their webpage:

https://the1940census.com

Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Please consider becoming a volunteer indexer to help get this Census indexed. When it is released, you will only be able to browse it's pages. There are many volunteers signed up and ready to start indexing once the census is released! Here is more information if you want to volunteer: https://help.familysearch.org/HelpCenter/main.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=101448&sliceId=SAL_Public

Here's the latest article from the Genealogy site at BellaOnline.com.

Researcher's Guide to American Genealogy Resource
The Researcher’s Guide to American Genealogy by Val D. Greenwood is a great resource for all serious researchers to own or have access to. Although the 3rd edition came out in 2000, there is still a lot of great information within it’s pages that are relevant for today’s genealogist to learn from.
