Have you discovered the joys of inter-library loan? Our small town library doesn't have the budget or the shelf space for an abundance of materials. We're frequent users and request many items through inter-library loan, which gives us access to all the public libraries in a large area. This has been great for accessing additional books by favorite authors, finding resources on particular subjects for reports, and just browsing. When you're comfortable using the online catalog for your local library system, why not show your child how to use it? One major part of education is learning how to find information. Kids who are adept at locating the information they need are at a great advantage.
