Volunteering for Gifted Kids
Does your gifted child want to save the whales, read to underprivileged children, or cook up a storm in the local soup kitchen? Volunteering is a win-win situation that can be very rewarding for everyone concerned.

Taking a long drive with kids in the car can be...FUN! There are myriad audiobooks recorded by actors who do amazing things with their voices; your local library probably has a slew of them! My family just finished listening to Gregor the Overlander, which is a kind of modern day Narnian adventure. Previously, we've listened to Harry Potter, The Magic Treehouse, Lord of the Rings, and many others. Listening is a good way to expose younger kids to books that they might not have the endurance to read independently, and one can never grow too old to listen to stories! Online stores have more choices than the library, and it is worth a small investment to purchase favorite stories that will be listened to over and over again.
Have a wonderful week!
