Hi everyone, that week went quickly!! It’s been hot and muggy here over the past week and it sure saps your energy. I can’t imagine how the people who are cleaning up after the floods must be feeling. I’ve been receiving lots of emails from my quilting friends about how we can help and I am pleased to see that our guild, Queensland Quilters will be making a concerted and co-ordinated effort to help those affected. For the time being, they really need money. Further down the track they will need quilts and other comforts, so now is the time to knuckle down and get some quilts made.
And that’s just what I’ve been doing. I’ve got some great patterns for quick and easy quilts that look fabulous (I’ve posted some of these on Bellaonline under “Quilting for Good Causes”). Needless to say my quilt room looks like a cyclone has gone through, but I can still find my machine and cutting board, and I guess that’s all that matters.
Last Sunday I posted another article with links to the many and varied Block of the Month programs that have started in 2011. These are BOM’s that are commercially offered and therefore user pays. In a few weeks I’ll be posting an article with all the FREE BOM’s available on the web currently. But in the meantime, here’s the link to the commercial BOM’s on offer.
