It’s that time again, a chance to pop in and say hello and leave you with some fun stuff. This week is a special week for me, as it’s our Queensland Quilters Inc Quilt Show and I feel so proud to be a Queensland Quilter and to see such wonderful creations on show at the Exhibition.
I managed to get a bit of time to wander around the show the other day and I was astonished at the incredible creativity of quilters; their bold use of color and the giant leap of faith they take in showing their work to the public.
I encourage any quilter, young or old, new or experienced to show your work. You will gain so very much from the experience. Simply seeing your creation hanging with others does your confidence the world of good!
The winners have been announced and I give you the link to the Queensland Quilters website to view all the category winners. Here’s the link: http://www.qldquilters.com/quilt_show_2010.php
I might also add that if you belong to a quilt guild, I would simply encourage you to get involved in the running of that guild. Without the help of their members, these guilds would simply fold and that would be an enormous shame.
Furthermore, the organisation of a quilt show is HUGE and any help you can offer would be gratefully received by the hard working event organisers. So don’t be shy, go and offer some assistance. Again, it will be a great experience for you.
I’ve posted yet more free Christmas patterns and designs for you to look at. I’ve had a ball finding all this stuff, so I hope you get something from them to add to your Christmas celebrations. Here’s the link to that article that was posted last Sunday: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art2268.asp
