October 5 2011 Quilting Newsletter

Hello everyone.
Well, dinner is over, the washing up is done after creating a 5:30pm miracle for dinner. Nothing flash, just something quick and easy. It’s been a busy day again today, and the next few weeks are only going to get busier. We are getting ready for our annual Quilt Show and I’m really excited. I love our quilt show. There’s always so much to see and do. It’s Quilt Heaven I think!

I’m also preparing for my week teaching on Norfolk Island. I’m sure I’ve mentioned that I taught there last year and they’ve asked me to return again this year. It’s a fabulous week and I look forward to catching up with the friends I made last year and of course to making new friends. MD is accompanying me again, and he’s looking forward to chilling out for the seven days. I have a mountain of lesson notes to photocopy, so that’s my next job.

Last week I posted the first of several articles that contain links to free Christmas patterns and designs that I have sourced from the World Wide Web. I have done this for the past 4 years and my readers really appreciate it. I’ve cleaned up the previous list, got rid of the dead links and added heaps and heaps more. Here’s the link to the first posting: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art6345.asp
I’ll have more for you in the next weeks to come.

Thank you also to those readers who contributed their ideas for the final four Periodic Table of Quilting Elements that I wrote a few weeks ago. Now, I have a confession to make….. I saved this table as a PDF (because that’s what you do) and failed to save it as a document (because that’s what you don’t do) and so I am going to have to rewrite (type) the table again, with the four extra descriptions included. This is going to take a while, so please give me a week or two to get it together.

I’ve chosen the suggestions – C – for Cathedral Window, Co for cotton, Zn has to be zany and finally Xe for those wonderful Xerox machines. (where we only copy stuff we have a right to copy!).

So onto my goodies for you this week. Have fun!

Well, it’s my bedtime and I’m pooped. I hope this newsletter finds you all well and keeping safe. It’s a slippery slide to “you know what” with not a lot of weeks to go……. Someone told me they have all their presents bought and/or made AND wrapped. (There’s an overachiever in every group). LOL

Cheerio for now
