December 14 2011 Quilting Newsletter

Hi everyone, another busy week spins past at the speed of light. I’ve just posted the last of my Christmas gifts, hooray. No matter how hard I try, it’s always a rush to get them off in time. I guess I’m not alone – it’s probably the same the world over.

We had our Christmas party at Sisters of Stitch yesterday and it was a lot of fun. The girls are a hoot when it comes to having some fun and we did quite a lot of serious giggling. I prepared a few games to play which is always fun and of course the home baking was outstanding, as it always is.

We have a number of older women in the group who don’t get a chance to bake as much as they’d like, so our fortnightly meeting of 30+ crafters gives them every reason to get down and get baking.

There were the usual suspects you’d expect on the table- rum balls, white Christmas etc, but my favourite was the beautifully iced Christmas cake. Yum, Yummy, in my tummy!!

I’ve been busy posting some reviews on the website, of complimentary books that I have received recently. This latest review is about the publication titled Appliqué a Garden. It’s a lovely book and if you’d like to read more about it, here’s the link: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art174279.asp

I wonder what homemade Christmas gifts you might be making for your friends and family? Let us know over at the forum. I’ve posted that question, and now you can tell us what you’re up to. Here’s the link: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/731086#Post731086
