February 2 2012 Quilting Newsletter

Knock, knock, it’s just me saying hello to you this week and bringing some goodies for you. I hope you are well and getting some sort of quilting done through your busy day.

On Monday, I attended our first meeting for 2012 of the Sunshine Linus group on the Sunshine Coast. Boy! What a day! It’s been raining here for a few weeks and the sun decided to shine so the humidity was through the roof. But we had about 40 women attend, some who bought yummy home bake (I loooooove home bake) and we got down and got busy making up deliveries of quilts, labelling quilts, cutting out weighted blanket kits and lots of other stuff. If you’re interested to see what we get up to here’s the link to the Sunshine Linus Blog. http://sunshinelinusgroup.blogspot.com.au/

It is so very rewarding to belong to such a dedicated group of women who all have the same goal – to help those less fortunate that ourselves. I thoroughly recommend you get involved with a quilt group in your area that is making things for charity. It gives you a real buzz!

I went surfing last week and have posted an article containing a number of Block of the Month programs that are offered commercially (that is - you pay). There are some really lovely ones here and I’m happy to hear from you if I’ve missed any out. Here’s the link to that article:

It’s a bit quiet on the forum front. Be in touch, it’s your forum, please make the most of it. Here’s the link if you want to communicate with other Quilting readers: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=43

So, now it’s time for me to present to you the goodies I’ve found throughout the last week. I hope you can find something of interest to you.
