Hi everyone, popping my head in to have a quick chat. I’ve just poured myself a cuppa, so hope you have too!

At last! I’ve finished my blue quilt for our bed and I’m very pleased with the finished quilt. I mentioned in a previous newsletter that I used a quilt as you go method which was very useful as the blocks were 22” square and I had 20 in the quilt. Yes it’s a biggie, but it hangs very well over our oversized sleigh bed. I had to hand sew the binding in shifts as it was so big and heavy and the weather here has been so hot and muggy.

I’ll be posting an article about it in the next few weeks, keep an eye out for it. I’ll be giving dimensions and instructions for making one block. The machine quilting was quite simple, as the pattern was busy enough. In some places I lost the plot whilst quilting and could have done better, but hey, I’m happy with the result. I’m not one for angsting over perfect or near perfect. If I’m happy with it, it’s perfect!!

I posted a book review last week on a book I received from Martingdale (That Patchwork Place) called Color for the Terrified Quilter (that covers about 50% of the quilters I know). It’s a great book and full of AH HA moments. Here’s the link to the article: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art4963.asp

Had a lovely question from a reader about buying an existing quilting business at the forums. Here’s the link to the question and my answer. If you have a comment to make, please feel free to make it here. The more opinions on this particular subject, the better I say. http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/664261/Buying_a_quilting_store#Post664261
