March 7 2012 Quilting Newsletter

Hi everyone, just me popping my head through the back door to say hello and check on how you are. I do hope all my subscribers to the Quilters Quarters Newsletter (and there are 4,016 of them!) are well and happy, and at least getting a little bit of quilting done each day.

I spent the last two days sorting my embroidery threads. What a job! When I’m stitching, I tend to be in a frenzy of sorts, and don’t always wind them correctly back on the bobbin. So I had a pretty big mess to sort out. I have the numbers on the bobbins, but I stopped short of sorting them into number order. I prefer my threads (or floss) to be in colour order. That way I can grab the exact thread I want, because I can compare it with others that are near it. It’s difficult to do that if they are in number order. Anyway, the job is done now, and won’t need to be done again for a few months!! I’m sure I’m not alone, out there in quilting world I know there’s a lot of crafters doing the same thing.

Last week I reposted the State Blocks of America block for Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Boomer block, but this time I put in the diagrams that have been missing for some time. Unfortunately when some editors leave, they choose to take their work with them (and they have that right to), and this set of diagrams have needed to be redone. Thanks for a heads up from a reader that this needed to be done, here’s the link for you: Quilt Blocks of the States - Oklahoma Boomer - A 9 inch pieced quilt block pattern from our Quilt Blocks of the States series. http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art593.asp

Don’t forget the Quilting forum is there for you to use. You can post queries, comments or just have a chat with other quilters. To participate in free, fun online discussions, this site has a community forum all about Quilting located here - http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=43
