Hi all, well it’s the middle of March and we’re all heading into a new season. It’s autumn here, but of course being subtropical, we don’t really notice autumn until about May. We can look forward to a nice less humid climate for the next 8 weeks or so. Very civilised!!
I’ve been busy this week with sewing sewing sewing. Our group The Sisters of Stitch has adopted the little township of Condamine that was inundated with flood waters, not once but twice in a few weeks over Christmas. Unfortunately this little town was evacuated, so lots of homes and contents were damaged. The SOS decided to provide tea towels to the women of the town. So I’ve been busy sewing gorgeous patchwork fabric to the tea towels I’ve purchased. I bought bright red waffle towels, and have sewn fabrics that depict food onto each end. One towel has onions and cabbages, the other apples and carrots. They’ve come up a treat, and I’ll be buying more towels to keep going.
I’ve also made some baby face washers with fabric and matching fabric buckets for a stall at the church that provides space for the Sunshine Linus group I belong to. It’s the least we can do when they support Sunshine Linus to such a large extent. Got more sewing to do for that stall, so will keep my head down for the next few days.
I posted another article listing more free block of the months that are available on the web. Here’s the link to that article: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art5039.asp
I’m going to be posting photos and instructions for my Blue Quilt in the next few weeks, so keep your eyes out for that. Thanks to all those who contact me through the email provided on the webpage. It’s always so lovely to hear from you and I endeavour to reply within a few days of receiving your email.
