Quilting

April 17 2013 Quilting Newsletter

Knock, Knock, it’s just me popping in a saying hello to all my readers on the Bellaonline Quilting Site. Another busy week buzzes by. We’ve had our shade sail repaired at last, after the dreadful winds of ex-cyclone Oswald in January. Finally our pot plants and veggies have some shelter from the heat of the midday sun, and are looking very happy.

My darling put in a bird bath some months ago, and we’re now seeing birds having a bath nearly every day. It’s funny watching them – they first sit on the bough of a nearby tree and check that it’s safe. Then they fly to the edge and have a little drink. I guess they’re checking that it’s only water and it’s clean.

Then they throw themselves head long into the water over and over, sometimes up to 8 times. They really let their inhibitions go and seem to have a ball. I’ve even seen three birds having fun all at the same time. What a lovely waste of time that is!

Last Sunday I posted my article on calculating quilt backing fabric. Here’s the link: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art180154.asp
