Hi everyone, my apologies for running late this week, it’s been a busy one for me. We had a fantastic meeting at the Sunshine Linus group on Monday. We handed some 44 “kit bags” to the Gift Program who supports the Foster Parents of the Sunshine Coast. These bags will be provided to the foster childred to hold their “special” belongings.

We also have set ourselves a goal of making and donating 100 quilts to the Gift Program by August. We spent most of our meeting, sorting through the fabric that has been donated, and making room for more to come! We do so appreciate the donation of fabrics to the Sunshine Linus group – without these generous donations, we would find it very difficult to provide anywhere near as much as we can.

If you have any patchwork fabric that you don’t think you’ll use, perhaps you could donate it to your local Project Linus chapter, or a similar group that makes comforts for people in need.

It’s Easter here this weekend, and a lot of people have left the city for their holiday destinations. I hope the weather holds out for the campers. We’ve had some rainy days lately and I don’t believe it’s all cleared as yet. So here’s hoping. MD and I are staying put for Easter. We don’t usually go away for Easter. So there’s plenty to do here at home. I’ve got some sewing to get into and I hope to finish this particular quilt within the week. I started this quilt at a workshop about 12 months ago, and it’s time to finish it off. So four days should see me break the back of that project. MD will try to fit some cycle riding in, if the weather’s good.

I surfed the web last week after a request from a reader for some placemat patterns and found some wonderful patterns. I posted the result in this article, and here’s the link: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art322.asp

We had a request from a reader on the forum about finishing off an antique quilt. Perhaps you could help this reader with some ideas. Here’s the link to the forum: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php/forums/43/1/Quilting

I’m having lots of fun finding fun things for you to browse. Hope you enjoy the selection for this week.
