Quilting Newsletter

August 20 2014 Quilting Newsletter

Firstly my apologies - you probably have received a very odd newsletter before you receive this one - that's because I pressed the enter key before I'd loaded up my newsletter. Fat Fingers, what can I say? Let's try that again......

Knock Knock it’s me again, popping in to say hello and leave a few goodies. Please forgive me if I make a mess of this newsletter, the D on my keyboard is still not repaired and it’s driving me nuts!!

I’ve completed my “first stage” of the overhaul of my sewing room and I am very proud to tell you I have 8 quick unpicks, and they’re all in the SAME PLACE! Yes, it’s wonderful to be able to find things. BUT, I also put away some sewing thread on large cones, and do you think I can find them? I’ll just have to wait to come upon them when I’m not looking!!

I’ve been busy making some bibs for the special needs kiddies at the Special School near where we gather at Sunshine Linus. The parents have given us their “second” towels, that are not suitable for drying bodies, and one of our angles at Sunshine Linus, Leone and her daughter Michelle, have cut them into bibs for the children.

The towel bibs are covered with bright happy fabrics and then bound with bias binding. I use the binding as the cords for tying on the neck. The parents and school teachers have been so appreciative of these bibs, as it does save the children’s clothing and gives more life to their uniforms.

I wrote an article about Machine Quilting in modern times last week and if you’re interested, here’s the link: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art801.asp

And so onto my goodies. But first, let me thank the wonderful readers who send me links to have a look at. I really do appreciate the time and effort to make to give me the heads up on these sites. It’s great to share them with everyone. So, here’s your lot for the week. Have fun.
