Quilting

August 25 2010 Quilting Newsletter

Hello everyone, it’s only been two weeks since I wrote, but it seems much longer than that for me! My husband and I travelled out bush to see our daughter and her husband. We had a great trip and of course it was lovely seeing our family and very hard to say goodbye. They are doing a marvellous job teaching in their community and I take my hat off to teachers everywhere for the fantastic job they undertake. We spent a few days at the beach, just walking and sleeping and eating, eating and did I mention eating?

On our return, we packed up our things and moved to another house, only 4kms away (about 10 minutes driving time), and I’m happy to say we are now at our new home, all be it surrounded by boxes, boxes and more boxes. My darling just says, if you get bored, open a box. People ask if we’ve downsized, but I like to say resized! Both of us have hobby interests and we need a bit of extra space to pursue them. I think the next move will be the downsize, hopefully not for lots of years yet.

The best thing about the agony of moving, is that I now have my own sewing studio, and a separate study. How spoilt am I? I count my blessings every day for my wonderful lifestyle.

While I was away, I posted a couple of interesting articles on my quilting site. The first was a review for a great patchwork book making quilts using Jelly Rolls. Here’s the link to that article: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art3153.asp

The other article was a collection of free and not so free patterns and blocks for the Traditional and not so traditional Log Cabin Block. Here’s the link: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art10165.asp

Well, my dear quilting friends, you’ve waited long enough for my little gifts, and for a special treat, I’ll give you twice as many, to make up for my absence of the past few weeks. Glad to say I’m back on deck and will be busy sourcing all sorts of fun and quilting stuff for you.
