Walking is free and easy to do and helps you to lose weight and to get fit.
Your health will greatly benefit from walking.

Lower your blood pressure
Be an anti-ageing treatment

Help you sleep better
Helps to prevent the risk of breast cancer
All this from just walking! The recommended number of steps for you to aim for each day is 10,000.
Does 10,000 steps sound too overwhelming? This is approx 5 miles a day – now this may seem like a lot but you can break it down into more manageable chunks.
Try walking for half an hour at lunch time and then again in the evening.
Walk for 10 minutes in your coffee break, 20 minutes at lunch time and half an hour in the evening.
If you have a dog it is easy – just walk the dog two or three times a day and you will easily do an hours walking
Can you walk to work?
Do you walk to the shops?
Could you take one 30-minute walk before breakfast and another after dinner?
Or just commit to getting up once an hour, every hour throughout the day and walking for five minutes.
