Hi everyone,

There has been an exciting development in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) this week as South Africa signed a deal with the country to come together in the development of hydroelectric power. This will be a huge boost for the economy of the DRC and will hopefully aid in creating some stability in the region.

And an Ivorian soccer star is becoming involved in the fight against elephant poaching, so this week's article is about Yaya Toure, and his new role as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations:

Elephant poaching in Africa is becoming a serious concern. It is hoped that the appointment of a high profile soccer star as an ambassador for a program to save the elephants will have a positive impact on elephant numbers
