Appalachia

October 19 2011 Appalachia Newsletter

Greetings to all near and far. I hope your Autumn afternoons are warm, lazy, and full of gold. Take some time off for yourself and enjoy the many colors of Autumn. Pack a lunch, a thermos of java or hot chocolate and go on a day trip through some spectacular country in Appalachia.

The Appalachia site and the forum is growing fast. Come and join me in the forum and be part of the beginning of a beautiful site.

Autumn and Halloween is such a fun time to decorate. I love to gather the fallen leaves that have turned color and use them in flower arrangements or poster pictures. Get a poster board, glue black construction paper to it, then glue dried Autumn leaves of all colors, shapes and sizes on the board. This makes a lovely wall hanging that will add to your decorating through the end of November.

Here is my latest article:

Kentucky Lake, Lake Barkley, and The Land Between The Lakes is a vacation you and your family will never forget.

Did you know that a set of antlers on a mature elk bull can weigh up to 40 pounds? Can you imagine wearing a hat that heavy?

Old sayings I love, from Appalachian Mountain folks:
"Why that's as pretty as a speckled pup."

Till next time, may your home be filled with laughter and may it ring from floor to rafter.

May you walk in Beauty and Harmony.
