Fireworks Safety and Attention Deficit Disorder
Greetings from the Land of OZ!
Since tomorrow is a holiday in the United States, you get your newsletter and article a day early this week. Last year I wrote an article on fireworks safety. I updated the statistics on fireworks injuries for the 2012 fireworks season in the United States. Impulsive behaviors and inattention are hallmarks of Attention Deficit Disorder. When you combine these traits with fireworks, you have an explosive and dangerous combination. Then, factor into this equation the inexperience and feelings of invincibility of childhood and you have a perfect storm for injury. Don't let your loved ones be victims of fireworks. Find out what you can do to help them stay safe.
