April 20 2011 Biology Newsletter

Hello!

This coming Friday - April 22, 2011 - is Earth Day! When I was a young elementary school student, our class participated in the first ever Earth Day "teach-ins." We spent the day learning about the Earth, conservation, and ecology. We even played 'Earth Day' themed games!

This year marks the 41st anniversary of Earth Day. The theme set for this year by the Earth Day Network (http://www.earthday.org) is "A Billion Acts of Green."
According to the website, A Billion Acts of GreenĀ® is "the largest environmental service campaign in the world."

Get more information at http://act.earthday.org. Submit your own "Acts of Green" and be counted!

Here's the latest article from the Biology site at BellaOnline.com.

Intended to increase awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment, Earth Day is currently celebrated in more than 175 countries annually. How much do you know about Earth Day?
