There's something very nostalgic about this time of year. We anticipate the "loss" of our gardens throughout the winter, and it can make us a little sad, eh? I'm determined not to mourn what hasn't happened yet and to make the most of the full-bodied fall colors and mature plants that abound throughout this bittersweet season.

The morning glory is magnificent now...yes it's grown in a pot, and the hummingbird vine is laden with the red trumpets that attract those little beauties for which it is named. The black-eyed Susan vine, also in a container, looks very well with a yellow/orange lantana. I love to drive around the neighborhood and see what combinations other gardeners have succeeded with every year. This is no exception. It's a great time to get out and about and enjoy the late-season blooming. Now, for next year...
