Pain Prevention Tip
Strengthening the core muscles can help relieve arm, shoulder and neck pain. I recently worked with a young woman who attended the gym regularly and looked to be in fantastic shape. However, she was beginning to have some shoulder and wrist pain and some numbness and tingling in the arms. Although she performed strengthening exercises for the chest and the arms regularly, she did not work the core muscles and was actually very weak. This threw her out of muscular balance and started pinching the nerves in her neck and shoulder. Strengthening her core, mid-back and lower back muscles has helped relieve her symptoms.
