What is rockfish barotrauma? Barotrauma is pressure shock suffered by fish. Rockfish barotrauma is what happens to rockfish when they are brought up from deep depths. The decreasing pressure allows gas to expand leading to bulging eyes, extended stomachs, and swollen bellies.
