Greetings from Northern Nevada, Folks!
The wildfires of California are still causing some smoke drifts here in our valley, but it is much better than it was a few weeks ago. We can see our mountains again during the day and the stars in the wide open sky at night. Summer nights here in the desert country are perfect for sitting around outside and telling stories.

There are many folklore events and festivals around the world for everyone to have fun at. Virginia, is just one of the many hearts of folklore with the Appalachian folks and their arts and crafts close by. Their country crafts, homespun quilts - all those wonderful things we all love are there for us to enjoy. In the Heart of Appalachia in Wise County you can attend the 'Appalachian Folk Life Festival' at the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park, 10 West First Street and Wood Avenue, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219.
