Good afternoon!
Do you know what day it is? (Other than Thursday, of course.) It's the United Nations's 68th birthday today! What an exciting day. There has been a lot of activity over on the UN website over the past week that you might be interested in. Folks from around the world weighed in on why they feel the UN is important; the Secretary-General released a letter in honor of the UN's birthday; and the UN launched an interesting ad campaign that reveals often-misogynistic attitudes towards women as shown on search engines. Go ahead and check it out!
The holidays are coming up so quickly it seems, and many have started thinking about getting gifts for their loved ones. I decided to focus this week's article on fair trade gift-giving, particularly for people who live on a tight budget, like myself. I know that it can be difficult to figure out how to get fair trade gifts and stay on budget at the same time, but I think that it's possible with good planning and some creativity.
Have a nice weekend everyone!
