I moved into a quaint town in South India two years ago and one of the highlights of this rural district is the birds that live here. There are migratory birds that flock the place during the rainy season and others like peafowl, kites, ducks and egrets that can be seen all through the year. It’s the peacock that first caught my attention, not because of its bright colors but because the peacock happens to be the National Bird of India. So this week’s update is on the Indian Peacock!
