Learning the Hebrew Alphabet - Foreign Sounds
You probably already know more Hebrew than you think. Learn how to represent foreign sounds that aren't native to Hebrew in the Hebrew alphabet and explore English cognates and loan words in Hebrew.
Please visit middleeasternculture.bellaonline.com for even more great content about Middle Eastern Culture.
Since Middle Eastern language articles tend to be popular on the site, I've been thinking about adding a word of the week feature where we can learn a new word in a Middle Eastern language each week. In order to be able to use Hebrew and Arabic fonts with our mailing list software, I'll have to switch to sending the newsletter in HTML format. This week, I'll be sending the newsletter in plain text format and next week I'll be trying out the HTML format. Please let me know if you have problems with the HTML format or if you have a preference one way or the other. I'll be setting up a poll in the forum, but feel free to post a comment or send me an email as well.
Don't forget, this site has a community forum all about Middle Eastern Culture located here -
I hope to hear from you sometime soon, either in the forum or in response to this email message. I thrive on your feedback!
Have fun passing this message along to family and friends, because we all love free knowledge!
