Hello Nurses and All Those who Love Nurses and the Nursing Profession!

When we think of nurses, we think of people who are caring, compassionate, skilled, empathetic to others' needs and is someone committed to being their very best. Unfortunately, that is not always true. The good news is we can do something about it!

This week's article in on empathy. An article outlining a recent study on empathy caught my eye, especially the findings that students entering nursing as a second or third career, those with prior degrees in English and the sciences, and those with more clinical experience (such as seen with nursing assistants who move forward with their nursing education) display less empathy than those entering nursing as a first career or with little to no clinical exposure.
