Dear Readers,

Eventually the spring has come to Poland! After long winter - as the first snow came quite early last year and stayed with us till March - we eventually have proper snow!

Today I wish to present you one of Polish queens. This time it will not be a story of good and beloved queen - like it was in case of Saint Jadwiga - but about a woman who never became as powerful as she could. Anna Jagiellon was also the last member of this powerful family.

Queen Anna was the last member of Jagiellon family. When her brother died, leaving no successors, there were plans to proclaim her the king of Poland and crown her together with her husband, that would be chosen by Polish nobles.
