My Dearest Ones!

Today I would like to introduce you to a little piece of Polish poetry. Krzysztof Kamil Baczynski is only one of numerous Polish poets. His poetry might not seem contemporary, as he created it during the WW II, but by all means it is. He wrote not only about war and suffering but also about the fact of shaping our mind and soul. He managed to write even about love.

I, myself, love poetry of Baczynski. He has always been one of my favourite poets. Knowing that he not only wrote about fight but also took part in it, I feel like I feared, cried and suffered with him each time when reading his works. It is amazing that one might also find in his poems hope and love - to his parents, to his beloved wife... Although he died at the age of 24 he left over 500 poems and feelings - hidden in them - that one is able to feel even though over 65 years passed since his death.

Baczynski, poet and soldier
This young man was talented poet and soldier in one. Although his adolescence was rushed by the break out of WW II, he also left poems full of hope and joy over life. One of the most gifted poets of Polish occupation sacrificed his life to ideas that he believed in.
