This week's new article at the Public Health site on is "Floss to Protect Arteries."

You might be surprised to find there is a link between gum health and your risk of heart attacks and strokes, but research suggests failure to floss every day can have devastating consequences. And according to the CDC, 80% of Americans have some degree of gum disease.

September is now half over, and as expected, hurricanes, typhoons, earthquakes and tsunamis have been reported. Increased rainfall in some areas triggered flash flooding. All of these events are traumatic, but having an emergency plan will help you stay safe. If you haven't already, be sure to check out my article "Your Emergency Plan."

At the bottom of the page, you will also find links to other BellaOnline information regarding emergency planning.
