April 2 2010 Romance Novels Newsletter

Hello, and welcome back! We're having unseasonably warm weather here this weekend. I'm actually hoping it cools down in the next few days, as it's far too soon to be this warm. I'm sure my guys will disagree with me, as will my neighbor who's been waiting for summer since our first big snow in December. Oh well. This just means I stay indoors for a different reason, and with a cool drink instead of a warm one. Right now, when I'm not reading, I've been keeping busy writing, which has been absolutely terrific for me. And, while I may be going back to work in the next couple weeks, it should only be on a part-time basis for a while, which makes me happy as it means I can keep up with my writing.

If you haven't been by the main site lately, you've missed out on the March reviews. Starting with Her Last Chance, Montana Legacy, Secrets of a Scandalous Bride, In for a Penny, The Texas Billionaire's Baby, No Chance, and To Sin With a Scoundrel. I've got a couple of the April review books waiting for next week already.

For the readers: we all have authors we discover along the reading way, and sometimes we find an author who has a big backlist of books we've never read...and some of which are out of print. There are some romance authors who hate that problem for their readers and so have banded together to make out-of-print romances available again to their readers as e-books: A Writer's Work. I imagine in the next year or so, their list may expand some as more authors join them.

If you haven't stopped by the forum lately, you missed out on our March ARC giveaway. But never fear, we haven't done one yet for April, so you have time to get registered there to participate in the giveaways and discussions with other readers. We also have some discussion topics and polls here that you may want to take a look at as well.

For the writers out there who are writing character-driven stories, there is a fabulous workshop coming up soon. You can find all the details here; just pull up the 'Running in the Dark: Organic Structure for Character-Driven Stories' info to check it out.

Until next time, happy reading and writing!
