July 17 2012 Vision Issues Newsletter
Volume 7; Issue 3 - Week of July 15th to 21st
Two weeks until the start of the 2012 Olympics in London. I am very excited about one runner in particular, a runner from South Africa who is a double amputee. He is known as the “Blade Runner” because of the type of prosthetics legs he uses. He has won second at the world games so he is a very good runner. His name is Oscar Pistorius.
I also heard a story about an inspirational young lady participating in the Miss Florida USA Pageant who is legally blind. Her name is Connor Boss. She finished in the top five of the pageant.
I am proud of people who have faced their disability and overcome. Great job to two wonderful role models. Good luck!
