October 23 2006 Work & Family Newsletter

Greetings Work and Family Members,

This weeks article is *Insomnia or Busy Bedroom?*, you may think you have insomnia, but perhaps is your bedroom just too busy. Take a look at what's in your bedroom. Does it serve a dual purpose? It is a bedroom/home office or bedroom/TV room? A few adjustments may help you sleep better. How often have you fallen asleep while the television is still on? See full article here.

This year, the breast cancer awareness people, The Komen Foundation, is launching the “Passionately Pink for the Cure” program. We are asked to wear pink on a day of our choice to show our support for this worthy cause. See our October calendar for the direct link and more important dates

“Last week I heard a discussion on the news concerning structured play date and play time. When I was a child, this was unheard of. Neighborhood moms just congregated, they talked, and we played. When I was a littler older mom said go outside and play and I did. For me playtime was until dusk when I was called and told to come inside. The only structure I had was when I ignored my mom and continued to play, my twin brother's were sent to call me. They would shout at the top of their lungs, "Momma said to come inside."

Do you think there is more 'calendar scheduled' time because more mothers are working outside of the home? If not, what is the reason?”

As always, feel free to send this and other Work & Family articles to family and friends.

Be careful, be safe,
